Don’t miss the opportunity to participate in an outing you’ll never forget. Your day starts with a visit to the El Yunque Rainforest. As the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest System, this spot is a must-see for all visitors to the island!
You’ll begin by getting picked up from your San Juan, Isla Verde, Rio Grande, Luquillo, or Fajardo location. Bespoke Lifestyle Management’s vehicles will then take you to the rainforest trail’s starting point. The El Yunque Rainforest covers over 28,000 contiguous acres and includes peaks, escarpments, streams, and waterfalls. The region’s lush green vegetation is notable for its impressive biodiversity.
We will hike 25 to 30 minutes up a dirk/rock path that does include some river wading. The trail is surrounded by bamboo trees, rainforest flowers, and many other beautiful plants. Our group will stop at a collecting pool formed from the base of a waterfall. Here, you will have the chance to swim in the pool’s crystal-clear waters. This is also a great spot for picture opportunities!
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITATIONS
- Participants must be physically capable of walking on steep, rocky, and muddy trails. They must also be able to walk on uneven surfaces.
- Pregnant women and guests with previous injuries, back problems, knee problems, fear of heights, and recent surgeries cannot participate.
- Children must be at least 6 years or older and weigh at least 60 lbs in order to participate.
NOTE
- Wear bathing suit and comfortable clothes.
- Bring a towel and extra pair of clothing.
- Tennis, Sneakers or Hiking shoes are required (must be closed toe, no sandals). Shoes will get wet and muddy.
- Must have a good breakfast before departing on tour.
- Use of lifejacket and helmet is mandatory.
All tours leave from San Juan and Metro Area. To account for transportation, guests should allow up to 8 hours for the entire experience. We’ll spend about 2.5 hr driving, 1hr lunch, 3.5 – 4 hr in the rainforest itself.
What Is Not Included?
- Gratuity for your tour guide is not included, but greatly appreciated
- The cost for lunch after your hike is not included.
