Tour El Yunque Rainforest

Come visit El Yunque Rainforest, the only tropical rain forest in the United States National Forest System and a must-stop for all visitors of Puerto Rico!

The forest covers over 28,000 contiguous acres, with peaks, escarpments, myriad streams and waterfalls, and lush green vegetation representing various forest types. It truly is a biodiversity paradise that demands to be explored on an El Yunque day trip.

Post-hurricane conditions have forced us to use other trails on the skirts of El Yunque Rainforest, until further notice. We have adapted our tour route into an El Yunque Off the Beaten Path version in order to continue offering a similar experience. Please read the complete description as the activity became more advanced and strenuous and may not be suitable for everyone.

On these guided El Yunque tours, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Hike and explore other zones of El Yunque Rainforest.
  • Take a dip in a waterfall and natural pool (optional).
  • River wade, rock scale, swing from a rope into the natural pool and enjoy natural water slides.
  • Hear our guide cover subjects such as natural history education, medicinal and toxic plant identification, geology, ecology, pre-Colombian history, the island’s history and many other subjects including current conditions and facts post-hurricane Maria.
  • Spot native flora and fauna, many of which are not found anywhere else on the planet.

After the hike, we stop for lunch at a local restaurant (lunch not included in your ticket price) before heading back to San Juan.

What Is Not Included?

  • Gratuity for your tour guide is not included, but greatly appreciated.
